My work covers a broad spectrum of subjects and styles, but it is nonetheless linked by one theme: Finding the unique beauty, spirit and humanity in every person or place I record. I believe that seeing that “character” is essential to keeping one’s sanity in an increasingly sterile modern age.
Having lived in England, America, Russia, and France (and speaking all four languages fluently) I consider myself a truly international filmmaker. Based in Paris and London, I’m ideally located in the centre of Europe for work anywhere on the continent.
With my loyal team of artists and technicians in France and England, and my experience in film as a director, writer, editor, cameraman, and producer, I am able to manage the entire production process of any project from conception to delivery.
I have been deconstructing and reconstructing the world in scenes, takes, cuts, dollys and pans since I was a child. I finally chose this career for myself at the age of 12 when I started painstakingly and patiently making stop-motion animated stories using plasticine models and a super 8 camera. A few years later I connected with the real world, and have since directed music videos, commercial films, fiction, web films, travel pieces and feature documentaries.
Film Kit: Sony HDV Z1E (PAL & NTSC, Standard or High Definition), microphones, Final Cut 6 editing facilities. 16mm Bolex, and various other small cameras. I can organise and produce shoots on any format including HDTV and 35mm.
